EcoCharge Program

Earth Day Canada is helping pave the way to electric cars by installing 102 EcoCharge stations, in collaboration with the Fonds Éco IGA and our IGA dealers. These Level 3 charging stations—among the best-performing on the market—will be installed in the parking lots of 51 IGA supermarkets throughout Quebec and New Brunswick, facilitating the transition to electric vehicles.

EcoCharge Program stations are compatible with all electric car models and will charge your car in only 20 minutes—just enough time get your groceries! We are proud to bring you this additional service that is quick and user-friendly.

CANADA’S FIRST ELECTRIC-CONVERTED REFRIGERATED DELIVERY TRUCK FOR FONDS ÉCO IGA’S 10TH ANNIVERSARY

On September 20, 2018, the first 100% electric home delivery refrigerated truck was officially handed over. The product of an innovative initiative by Fonds Éco IGA, this truck was won by IGA Louise Ménard on Nuns’ Island in a contest to optimize residual waste management and obtain Action/Réduction certification.

A second 100% electric truck is also in service at IGA extra Famille Julien in Rouyn-Noranda as part of the same initiative. Two good deeds for the environment!
