Ingredients

375 mL 1 ½ cups tempura batter
500 mL 2 cups panko
5 mL 1 tsp. dried dill
6–8 dill pickles, halved
236 g 1 package vege creton
To taste yellow mustard

Directions

In a bowl, mix the tempura preparation with ice water and follow the package directions to make the batter. Set aside.
In a bowl, mix the panko and dried dill. Set aside.
Heat the oil in a fryer set to high (375 F/190 C), or in a pan.
Dip the pickles in tempura batter to coat completely. Shake gently to remove excess. Dredge in panko. Set aside. Repeat with the rest of the pickles.
Fry a few pickles at a time for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Strain.
Transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with vege creton and mustard, to taste.
