Keftas
- In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients well until the meat is sticky. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. With lightly oiled hands, shape the meat into long sausages around metal or wooden skewers (if wooden, soak in water for 30 minutes before using). Lightly oil the meat.
- Preheat the grill, setting the burners to high. Oil the grate.
- Grill the keftas for 8 to 10 minutes, turning them over regularly, until cooked through and browned on all sides. Grill the hot dog buns.
Sauce
- Meanwhile, in a bowl combine all of the ingredients.
Assembly
- Remove the skewers from the keftas. Fill each hot dog bun with lettuce, cucumber slices, kefta and sauce. Delicious served with oven-baked fries.
Chef’s tip
We’re serving these keftas in sandwiches, but they are just as delicious on their own accompanied by a green salad.
