- Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F).
- Place cod fillet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone baking sheet. Bake for about 17 minutes or until cooked through and cod flakes easily with a fork.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix remaining patty ingredients except chickpeas. Set aside.
- Once cod is cooked, place in a food processor with chickpeas and blend until smooth. Pour purée into the bowl with remaining patty ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Heat a little oil in large skillet set over medium heat. Divide mixture into 6 patties, about 1 cm (½ in.) thick, and spoon into skillet. Cook patties about 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
- Place a cod patty on each burger bun, spread with sauce and add chosen condiments. Serve with a green salad.

Cod patties keep in the refrigerator for three days. Can be frozen.
