Hold avocado upright. Cut in half lengthwise, running knife around the pit. Carefully plant knife blade into pit and twist gently to remove from flesh.

Remove peel and slice. Perfect for sandwiches.

Remove peel and mash flesh with a fork. Perfect for guacamole. Add lime juice to prevent browning.

How to quickly ripen an avocado
