- Mix together all ingredients (except avocados and red onion) in a food processor until almost completely smooth (leave a few little chunks).
- Add the red onion and avocado and purée until thick and smooth. If necessary, scrape the bottom of the bowl several times.
- Transfer hummus to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve with toasted pita, tortilla chips, or raw veggies.
