Chocolate fondue

Ingredients

  • Fruit cut in chunks
  • About 200 g (1 cup) chocolate
  • 125 mL (½ cup) milk or cream 

Method

  1. Cut chocolate in pieces.
  2. Melt chocolate in double boiler over low heat for 10 minutes.
  3. Gently stir milk into melted chocolate until smooth.
  4. Remove pan from heat and dip fruit into melted hot chocolate.

Chocolate zucchini cake

Ingredients

  • 230 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 230 g (2 cups) sugar, brown sugar, or maple sugar, or 460 g (4 cups) sifted icing sugar
  • 180 mL (3/4 cup) chocolate
  • 10 mL (2 tsp.) baking soda
  • 5 mL (1 tsp.) baking powder, or 2 eggs
  • 2.5 mL (1/2 tsp.) salt
  • 5 mL (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon or nutmeg 
  • 4 eggs
  • 375 mL (1 ½ cups) oil (olive, canola, coconut, hazelnut, grapeseed, sesame, or sunflower seed)
  • 750 mL (3 cups) grated zucchini
  • 180 mL (3/4 cup) chopped walnuts, hazelnuts, or almonds

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake tin.
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, chocolate, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Then add eggs and oil, and stir well.
  3. Stir in nuts and zucchini until evenly incorporated.
  4. Pour batter into tin.
  5. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes
  6. Let cake cool completely before serving.
