Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190˚C (375˚F).
  2. Empty the cavity of the turkey and blot with a paper towel. Set the turkey aside.
  3. Heat the oil and sauté the onions in a frying pan for 3 minutes. Add the bread crumbs, pecans, cranberry sauce, thyme, orange zest and orange juice. Add salt and pepper, and combine thoroughly. Stuff the turkey with the mixture.
  4. Place the turkey in a large roasting pan. Cover with aluminum foil and roast for approximately 2 1/2 hours, basting often with the pan juices. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes. Garnish with orange slices and pecans.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes and carrots.
