With Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday this year, restaurants will surely be crowded and offer overpriced menus. So why not celebrate at home with your family instead! Here are some ideas and recipes to prepare a simple, yet festive Valentine’s Day dinner with your loved ones.
Dress up as Cupid the chef and cook a three-course meal with love. For the first course, serve up a beet and fennel soup that you can prepare the day before. Top it with yogurt that you can easily shape like a heart. Spoon out a small round of regular plain yogurt (not Greek) and, with the tip of a knife, go from side-to-side and shape the heart— the perfect latte art to surprise your little ones.
For the main course, try my Sweet and salty chicken prosciutto recipe. With only three ingredients, your meal will be ready in no time. Serve your dish with fresh bread and make a side of salad with what’s left in the fridge. This meal will be a winner with your loved ones.
Be sure to try this simple fudge recipe for dessert, worthy of the finest chocolate makers for half the price. These fun-to-make fudges are ready in only 15 minutes. Decorate them with your family using what you have in your kitchen cabinet: coconut flakes, ground coffee beans, fleur de sel, granulated sugar, maple flakes, puffed cereals— the possibilities are endless.
