- Preheat barbecue to medium-high.
- Pierce the sausages before cooking them in boiling water for 5 minutes. Use tongs to transfer them onto barbecue grill.
- Cook with the lid closed 5 minutes per side or until meat thermometer registers 70°C (160°F). Meanwhile, cut ciabatta rolls lengthwise without cutting completely through at side (like a hot dog bun). Toast rolls on grill 2 minutes per side.
- Garnish each roll with a lettuce leaf, cheese, a sausage, and barbecue sauce or honey mustard.
VARIATION: For a more refined hot dog, use onion confit in place of sauce. Yum!
