Ingredients

  1. 750 mL (3 cups) milk
  2. 250 mL (1 cup) 35% M.F. whipping cream
  3. 60 mL (¼ cup) maple syrup
  4. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) cocoa powder
  5. 168 g (6 squares) unsweetened baking chocolate, chopped

Directions

  1. Heat the milk, cream, maple syrup, and cocoa powder in a saucepan and bring to a low boil.
  2. Pour hot milk mixture over the chocolate and whisk to blend.
  3. Divide hot chocolate into four mugs and top with marshmallows and whipped cream, if using.

Chef’s secret 
Add cinnamon, cayenne pepper, vanilla, or orange zest to your hot chocolate for varied flavours.
