Ingredients

450 g (1 lb.) turkey breasts

30 mL (2 tbsp.) olive oil

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

15 mL (1 tbsp.) lemon juice

7 mL (1/2 tbsp.) chopped fresh basil or 2 mL (½ tsp.) dried basil

7 mL (1/2 tbsp.) chopped fresh rosemary or 2 mL (½ tsp.) dried rosemary

4 mL (3/4 tsp.) dried oregano
-
1 mL (1/4 tsp.) fresh thyme or 2 mL (1/2 tsp.) dried thyme

To taste, freshly ground pepper

8 bamboo skewers

3 Amore mild Italian sausages (½ package of 450 g)

1 medium onion, diced

1/2 red bell pepper, diced

1/2 green bell pepper, diced

Directions
- Cut turkey breast into 2.5 cm (1 in.) cubes and place in a bowl.
- Add olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, herbs, and ground pepper. Toss to combine.
- Let turkey cubes marinate in fridge for 1 hour.
- Soak bamboo skewers in water for 30 minutes so they don’t burn.
- Cut each sausage into six coins.
- Thread skewers alternating vegetables, marinated turkey cubes, and sausage coins.
- Preheat barbecue to high or oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Grill or bake skewers for about 20 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 77°C (170°F), flipping half-way through cooking. Serve.
