1. 450 g (1 lb.) stewing beef cubes
2. 60 mL (1/4 cup) flour

4. 2 garlic cloves, minced
5. 1 medium onion, diced small
6. 375 mL (1½ cups) red wine
7. To taste, salt and pepper
8. 3 carrots, brushed and cut into matchsticks
9. 1 tin diced Italian tomatoes (540 mL / 19 oz.)
10. 1 leek, sliced in rings
11. 30 mL (2 tbsp.) chopped fresh marjoram
12. 30 mL (2 tbsp.) chopped fresh thyme
