- Whisk eggs, milk, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Place bread slices on a cutting board.
- Divide 310 mL (1½ cups) Jarlsberg cheese onto bread slices. Lay two slices of ham on four of the bread slices. Close with remaining four slices to make sandwiches.
- Briefly soak each side of each sandwich in reserved egg mixture. Garnish one side with two sage leaves and sprinkle with some cheese.
- Grill each sandwich over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until crisp and golden.
