Spicy Sparkling Grapefruit by Monsieur Cocktail

Ingredients

  1. 1 star anise
  2. 1 green cardamom seed, crushed
  3. 45 mL (1.5 oz.) freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  4. 15 mL (0.5 oz.) Monsieur Cocktail Lime Syrup
  5. 105 mL (3.5 oz.) sparkling apple juice
  6. Grated nutmeg (to decorate)

Directions

  1. Gently crush star anise and cardamom seed with a pestle in shaker.
  2. Add grapefruit juice and syrup.
  3. Fill with ice and shake to mix.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a champagne flute and top off with sparkling apple juice.
  5. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg to decorate.
