Sparkling Pomegranate & Ginger Cocktail
Sparkling Pomegranate

Ingredients

  1. 4 bags Twinings Pomegranate & Raspberry Herbal Tea
  2. 350 g brown sugar (or 150 mL Marie Brizard sugar cane syrup)
  3. 200 mL water
  4. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) fresh ginger
  5. 1 star anise
  6. 1 Diet lemon-lime soft drink (e.g. 7UP or Sprite)
  7. 1 bag frozen mango

Directions

Pomegranate syrup directions:

  1. Grate the fresh ginger.
  2. Pour water into a pot and add the herbal tea bags, ginger, and sugar (or cane sugar syrup).
  3. Bring to a boil and heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Reduce heat to very low and simmer for 15 minutes until a syrupy consistency is reached.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Strain the syrup. You can now begin preparing the cocktail!

Cocktail directions:

  1. Place 2–3 pieces of frozen mango in the bottom of each glass and fill the rest with ice.
  2. Fill three quarters of each glass with lemon-lime soft drink.
  3. Add 3 tbsp. (15 mL) of pomegranate syrup to each glass (adjust to taste).
  4. Stir, add the star anise to decorate and enjoy!
