Shrimp dumplings with peanut sauce

Ingredients

  1. 35 frozen wonton wrappers, thawed (about ½ of a 454-g box)

Stuffing

  1. 200 g (7 oz.) frozen cooked shrimp, U71-90, thawed and chopped
  2. 125 mL (½ cup) chopped leek (white part)
  3. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) chopped ginger
  4. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) soy sauce
  5. 10 mL (2 tsp.) sesame seeds
  6. 1 egg

Peanut sauce

  1. 125 mL (½ cup) creamy peanut butter
  2. 125 mL (½ cup) water
  3. 30 mL (2 tbsp.) soy sauce
  4. 15 mL (1 tbsp.) honey
  5. 5 mL (1 tsp.) sambal oelek

Directions

  1. Combine all filling ingredients together in a bowl. 
  2. Place about 5 mL (1 tsp.) of filling on each wonton wrapper. Moisten wonton wrapper edges. Lift up the 4 corners of wrapper and join over top to form a bundle. 
  3. To steam dumplings, put a little water in the bottom of a double boiler, place the dumplings on a plate and place it in the upper part of double boiler. Cover and steam dumplings for about 7 minutes. 

Peanut sauce

  1. Whisk together all ingredients in a bowl. Serve with dumplings.
