Mushroom and Oka toast

Ingredients

  1. 1 nut bread
  2. 10 mL (2 tsp.) butter
  3. 5 mL (1 tsp.) chopped garlic
  4. 500 mL (2 cups) coarsely chopped cremini mushrooms
  5. To taste, salt and pepper
  6. 3 slices OKA cheese, each cut in 4
  7. 5 mL (1 tsp.) finely chopped fresh rosemary

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Cut 12 slices of nut bread and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. In a skillet, fry garlic and mushrooms in the butter for 5 to 7 minutes. Season to taste.
  3. Divide the mushroom mixture onto the slices of bread. Top each one with a slice of Oka and sprinkle with rosemary.
  4. Place in the oven for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and golden brown. Serve hot or at room temperature.
