Ingredients

1 L (4 cups) hot water (95°C or 200°F)

4 black teabags

1 lemon, sliced in rounds

30 mL (2 tablespoons) fresh gingerroot, coarsely chopped

125 mL (½ cup) sugar or honey (optional)

1 L (4 cups) ice cubes

To taste fresh mint (optional)

Directions
- Place teabags, half of lemon slices, ginger, and sugar or honey, if desired, in the hot water.
- Let steep 3 to 5 minutes.
- Strain liquid into a pitcher. Add ice cubes, remaining lemon, and fresh mint. Serve.
