Deluxe Sauerkraut

Ingredients

  1. 796 ml (28 oz.) store-bought sauerkraut
  2. 4 fresh Oktoberfest sausages
  3. 1 onion, chopped
  4. 250 ml (1 cup) white wine
  5. 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Canola Oil,
  6. To taste, salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180˚C (350˚F).
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and fry onion 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add sausages and brown 3 to 4 minutes. In the meantime, place sauerkraut in an ovenproof dish and moisten with white wine.
  4. Lay sausages and onion on sauerkraut and season to taste.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes.

Suggestion for accompaniment: Serve with Chabrol white wine
