Ingredients

FOR THE PASTRY

  1. 150 g (2/3 cup) flour
  2. 330 mL (1 1/3 cup) rolled oats
  3. 125 mL (1/2 cup) brown sugar
  4. 125 mL (1/2 cup) softened butter
  5. 5 mL (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon
  6. To taste, dried cranberries

FOR THE FILLING

  1. 1 egg
  2. 250 mL (1 cup) Riviera Plain French-Style Fresh Cheese
  3. 250 mL (1 cup) sugar
  4. 30 mL (2 tbsp.) cornstarch
  5. 2 mL (1/2 tsp.) ground cinnamon
  6. 1.25 L (5 cups) apple cut into 1 cm (1/2 in) pieces

Directions

This recipe is courtesy of Riviera.

  1. Preheat oven to 180˚C (350˚F).
  2. In a bowl, combine all pastry ingredients.
  3. Press half the pastry mix into the bottom of an oven-safe dish. 
  4. In a large bowl, beat the egg.
  5. Add plain fresh cheese, sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon and mix to combine.
  6. Stir in apples.
  7. Pour filling onto pastry in oven-safe dish and even out. 
  8. Press remaining pastry onto the filling.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes.
